Most women have painful menstrual cycle called as menstrual cramps. These usually occur before or during menstrual cycle. Depending on the situation it could be mild or could be severe. Contractions in uterus is the cause of menstrual cramps. This contraction causes shedding of the fertile layer that was prepared for pregnancy. Cramps usually occur in abdomen, lower back and legs.
Stick to a healthy diet, include lot of fruits and vegetables.

2. Drink hot tea/hot chocolate or tea with lemon
3. Eat bananas, they have potassium which reduces cramps
4. Avoid sugary food, alcohol and caffeine
5. Have Calcium, Vitamin E, Thiamine, Omega-3 and Magnesium rich food.
Make exercise as regular habit, exercise reduces menstrual pain. Take hot shower, put hot water bottle or hot wash cloth over abdomen.
Proper sleep helps in distraction the mind and calms muscles.
Massage with magnesium oil over lower abdomen.
