Mistakes While Washing Your Hair

Everyone gets inspired by celebrity hair styles and wants their hair to be shiny and soft. But we do some basic mistakes while trying to achieve the dream hair.

1. Washing it every day:

We get worried about greasy strands and over wash hair which affects hair. Stylists say that hair looks best when natural oils that start in scalp reaches ends. Recommendation is to wash them every other day or third day.

2. Taking super-hot showers:

Warm water opens hair’s cuticle to allow shampoo and conditioner to do their job but cold water helps to close the cuticle and seal in moisture from the conditioner. Cold water helps hair to look shiny and healthy. So, it’s important to rinse hair with cold water at the end and if not then should use one cup of apple cider vinegar mixed with two cups water over hair after washing and conditioning. Vinegar is a gentle exfoliator and helps in removing product and dandruff from the scalp.

3. Rinsing too much:

Always use lukewarm or cool water for rinsing colored hairs as heat causes losing color faster.

4. Switching shampoo:

One of the mistake we do is try different shampoos and products. Experts recommend to use the shampoo which works and hair health gets affected by chemicals used in different products and brands.

5. Overdoing it on shampoo and/or conditioner:

Hair roots need less moisture than ends so it is always recommended to use and concentrate shampoo towards the scalp and condition the mid shaft to the end of hair.

6. Skipping the conditioner:

For every wash it is important to use conditioner to get shinier hair. Conditioner helps in cutting down friction and breakage of hairs.
